Parent Faculty Club (PFC)

The purpose of the Thornhill Parent Faculty Club (PFC) is to foster academic knowledge, intellectual curiosity, imaginative thought, and social responsibility in our children. To that end, we work closely with Thornhill's principal and teachers to define priorities that supplement and support the school's programs, philosophy, and strategic plan; and we raise and allocate funds to accomplish these goals.

The Thornhill Parent Faculty Club (PFC) currently funds the following:

  • Thornhill’s library, librarian, and books
  • Instrumental music program for grades 3-5
  • Music program for grades TK-2
  • Physical education teacher
  • Computers: hardware and software, training, and technical support
  • Teachers’ aides
  • Teacher supplies fund
  • Music events and assemblies
  • Art teacher and program
  • Garden project, environmental, and site improvements
  • Website and weekly newsletter
  • Fifth grade promotion ceremony
  • Scholarships for programs and field trips

The PFC is run by volunteers just like you! Every Thornhill parent and guardian is automatically a member of the Parent Faculty Club (PFC). Volunteering is a great way to make a positive impact in our school community as well as a great way to meet other Thornhill parents and guardians.

There are all different kinds of volunteer opportunities with varying levels of time commitment. You can even grab a friend or two and share a volunteer role.

Contact us at president@thornhillschool.org, and we can help you find the perfect PFC volunteer gig for you!

Open Board Positions

Our board is only as strong as the people on it. We are currently seeking dedicated volunteers to fill three critical roles on our Board:

  • Secretary

  • VP of Fundraising (can be shared by two people!)

  • Auction Chair (can be shared by two people)

No prior board experience is required for any of these roles—just enthusiasm and a willingness to show up for our kids and our community. Email us to learn more at president@thornhillschool.org.

Monthly PFC Meetings

PFC meetings are held once per month, and all parents/guardians are invited.

This is a great chance to meet your board, learn about upcoming events, and find out how you can get involved.

Meetings are generally held on Zoom unless otherwise noted; please check for meeting information on Konstella, the weekly newsletter, or the Calendar. We hope to see you there!
